HIRSTGLEN ARABIANS - Australian Bred, World Class Arabians
The People

Noel & Donna Weismann

Since his very first Endurance ride, Noel has gone from strength to strength.
Over an eight year period he accumulated 11,008 kilometres in ride completions, which includes an astounding 42 wins.

He has won the title of National Distance Rider four times - the first being in 1995 with 2,947 kilometres and a 100% completion rate. He most recently won this same title in 2007. He has two Quilty buckles and has owned and bred some world calibre Endurance horses.

Donna was originally a Polocrosse player and after a long spell from riding, started Endurance in 2003. Her early days in the sport saw her riding Hirstglen horses, which is how she met Noel. Since then, she has achieved incredible success in a relatively short time. In 2008 alone, she came second in the Tom Quilty Gold Cup, second in the 320km Marathon at Imbil and won Queensland DIstance Rider (Middleweight) - all the while maintaining a 92% completion rate.

During the past five years Donna has won many rides and for all the kilometres she has done in competition, there has been many thousands more in training.

They currently live on acreage in Brisbane while developing the farm 'Cinnabar Runn'.

Tim & Jo Weismann

Noel's only son Tim, has love of horses is only matched by that of his father. He started endurance at 12 years of age and hasn't looked back.

Timmy has won many rides over the years and National Junior Distance Rider of the Year twice. In 1995 he won the title with a staggering 2,157 kilometres - he was only 14 years old.

He has three Quilty buckles and has trained horses in Dubai.

He met Joey when she started endurance. Sadly her first year was cut short by Equine Influenza, despite this she still managed 6th Distance Rider in Queensland.

Together they have started their own breeding program - young Cody was born in October 2008. He will no doubt follow in the footsteps of dad and granddad and start riding at an early age.

Their 6 year old daughter Tyla will start endurance this year - although at this point she is more excited about her bright pink membership card. Tim and Jo have put their broodmare Hirstglen Mavis to Shuja Arragon and Tyla will receive the first foal from that pairing, due late 2009.

Together with their children, Tim & Jo look forward to many more years of competition in Endurance as well as breeding a few horses of their own.
